Session Description: We are living in tough times where crime levels are at peak levels all over this country; and customer/employee safety has risen to major concerns. It is a fact—if a person does not feel safe entering or parking at a property—they will not go there. A prime area for crime occurrence is in the parking area of a restaurant facility. Good lighting can prevent crime. This discussion will provide statistics, examples of good and bad lighting, photometric layouts for proper light distribution, danger zones in the parking area, LED retrofit, selecting the right type of fixtures, crime prevention, and safety for both employees and customers. There will be open Q & A throughout the session.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to look at their facilities at night to determine a safer situation for their employees and customers.
  • Learn how to acquire lighting and present to management a lighting package and other things they can implement to better the facility.
